Our bodies were designed to adapt to our diets. In the case of consuming large amounts of sugar, our blood glucose levels become skewed. The brain becomes used to higher than normal levels of blood glucose and begins to signal hunger more quickly. The end result is feeling hungry more often and craving sugar. Because hoodia can mimic glucose, it may help fight your hunger and sugar cravings and lose weight.
Think about what ditching the refined carbohydrates would do for your weight loss efforts. All of those empty calories, burned up quickly and converted to fat would be off the menu. In their place could be more healthful choices that promote weight loss. If hoodia can help you achieve that difficult feat, then I can see why it remains a popular appetite suppressant.
